Poems
UNIVERSE
I’ve never had a religion.
I know no universal truth.
but I’ve always said I believe in the echoing journey of Poetry.
Only to turn the page and go again.
BALANCE
The courage to speak
necessitates the fear of being heard.
The courage of listening
outweighs the fears of knowing.
WILLOWS
On Li Bai’s “a love song”
From behind the partings of the willow tree
hides out rendezvous, draped like bed curtains.
Then, later, vines glisten in the fog, touching the ground, sorrowed by our lover’s parting.
LIKE THE CAT
Rest a minute.
Watch the world as the cat does;
perched with leisure,
noticing every blade,
and hearing every chirp.
Rest a minute.
VINES
I have been trained like a tree.
You shaped me from a wandering vine,
guiding me higher and higher
with your strong steadiness.
CRICKET
Chasing you as frantically
as one chases the cricket
beneath the bed in the night.
HOW /WHAT
How do I stop and listen?
What if I am heard?
CANT I JUST
I love you
but I cannot help you.
I don’t know how..
can’t I love it better?
STILL WATERS
So long as my heart beats,
the water will never still.
With each thud,
A ripple runs from edge to edge.
POMEGRANATE WOMB
A pomegranate is like a woman’s womb.
Full of seeds, but the numbers are limited,
She is only ripe for a season.
Let’s not forget the red juice flows.
A womb is like a pomegranate,
only so many pieces to give.
ALONE
Sometimes I want to be alone as I feel
Like the moon in the sky, surrounded by the brightness of others.
Cut the noise, let it be dark.
Just for a bit.
OUT OF BODY
It doesn’t hurt.
I’m not sad.
I’m out of my body,
and you look the fool.
My blood is the mirror,
your lashings the tool.
How does it feel?
Why are you really mad?
